Marine Surveyor

We currently have a vacancy within the Technical Surveying & Project Management Department, based in Viareggio, Italy. A successful candidate will be a key member of a team of highly specialized maritime professionals responsible for undertaking technical surveys (pre-purchase, paint, valuation, and damage among others), risk assessments, and project management (new builds & refits).

The position requires the ability to be well organized, work independently and in a team to deadlines, take initiatives, solve problems, keep accurate records, and analyze and share data with a network of surveyors and engineers.

Primary duties include undertaking surveys and inspections according to the best industry standards and international maritime conventions and codes, as well as verifying the compliance of New Build/Refit projects with technical specifications from contract signature to the delivery of the yacht, being able to report and collaborate with leading surveyors and heads of departments.

Working with the ACP team and system is essential to provide technical support to the clients.

Required experience:
· Two years as a surveyor with a Classification Society, Flag State, or surveying company, of cargo vessels and/or mega yachts, or
· Two years as a technical superintendent for a navigation company, or similar technical experiences, or
· At least three years of seagoing experience as Engineer Officer on merchant ships/Mega Yachts

Additional requirements:
· Excellent written and spoken English
· Strong analytical skills and a good grasp of information technology, including database systems, Microsoft Office Package
· Availability to perform frequent business trips in Italy and abroad (worldwide) within short notice
